RESPONSE TO MPIA - DISPOSITION OF SURPLUS PROPERTY ST MARY'S COUNTY

Since 2014 I have assisted in connecting government entities, law enforcement agencies, and Non Profit Organizations with the County Administrator, responsible for disposing of surplus property. As a commissioner, when I am asked about the surplus property, they are immediately referred to the County Administrator to follow the prescribed process. As long as the entity qualifies, it may receive the surplus property. It is often a better solution than auctioning it off, as a government,  law enforcement agency, or non-profit will use the equipment to serve the taxpayers of the County or State. A list of these entities and their documentation is also included. I have helped many small municipal governments, non-profits, and police agencies throughout Maryland. As you will see I used my County Email to ensure the public could access the records, and ensured the proper process was followed for the disposition of county property.
